Itinerary

On the agreed day and time, we will meet you at the Tangier airport or port and start our adventure towards our first destination: Chefchaouen.

On the way to the blue city, we will enjoy picturesque landscapes and pass through several traditional villages, making stops along the way. Upon arrival in Chefchaouen, you will have free time to immerse yourself in the city’s blue alleys, characteristic of its old Medina, where you can discover local crafts and globally renowned panoramas.

Overnight in Chefchaouen.

The second day will be free for you to explore Chefchaouen in more detail, a city famous for its houses and streets painted in various shades of blue. The city’s Medina and its cobblestone alleys are notable, where you can see looms and other local crafts.

We recommend walking along the city wall to view the Bab El Ain gate, which connects the new part of the city to the southern section of the old Medina. Don’t miss the Mohammed V square and the main square, Uta el Hammam, where you can see the red walls of the Kasbah, dating back to the 15th century. This visit is highly recommended.

Overnight in Chefchaouen.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will continue our adventure towards Fez. Our first stop will be Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997. Volubilis is an ancient Roman city and one of the best-preserved archaeological sites in northern Africa.

After this visit, we will head towards Meknes, another UNESCO World Heritage city (since 1996), famous for housing the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the 17th-century Sultan of Morocco.

In Meknes, we will enter the Medina to explore its alleys and discover its charm. Besides visiting the Bab el Mansour gate, we will also visit the Jewish Quarter and the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail.

After exploring this majestic city, we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Fez, where we will check in at our accommodation.

After breakfast, we will discover the imperial city of Fez, known for having the largest Medina in the world and being a cultural hub, home to the oldest university in the world.

Our adventure will begin with an official guide tour inside Fez's Medina, wandering through its alleys, uncovering hidden spots, and delving into the city’s history. The Medina of Fez, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is home to globally significant artisan crafts, with the city being a key center for leather and pottery production.

The first point of interest will be the majestic gate of the Royal Palace, followed by the Jewish Quarter, which dates back to the 14th century. We will continue to important historical and cultural sites, such as the Tannery and the famous University of Qarawiyyin, the oldest university in the world.

After immersing ourselves in the history and culture of Fez, we will take a break for lunch at a traditional Moroccan restaurant. The tour will end with a visit to a viewpoint, where we can capture the unforgettable panoramic view of the Medina of Fez. Overnight in Fez.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will bid farewell to Fez and begin our journey to the desert. We will pass through several towns, such as Ifrane (known as "The Switzerland of Morocco") and Azrou, where we can explore the Middle Atlas Mountains and the cedar forest, home to ancient trees and a population of Barbary macaques.

We will continue to Midelt, the “city of apples,” where we will stop for lunch. Finally, we will travel through towns like Errachidia (with its majestic palm valley, the Ziz Valley), Erfoud (famous for fossil discoveries), and Rissani (the city of dates, home to the main market of the province).

We will conclude our journey at the foot of the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, the Merzouga Desert, which has the tallest dunes in North Africa.

Here, we will embark on a camel excursion across the magnificent desert, stopping to witness the breathtaking sunset. After this unforgettable moment, we will continue deep into the heart of the desert, where we will reach our camp for the night.

At the camp, we will be welcomed with traditional tea and enjoy a delicious Berber dinner amidst the vast desert. After dinner, we will enjoy an unforgettable evening with a drum music performance. We’ll sit around a fire and have the opportunity to learn to play various traditional Berber instruments, experiencing a unique moment under one of Africa’s most impressive star-filled skies.

We will wake up before sunrise to witness the desert sunrise (this activity is optional but highly recommended!). After breakfast, we will start a 4x4 tour to explore the area in greater detail.  We will cross the desert dunes in true Dakar style, venturing into its heart and living a unique experience and we will visit a nomadic settlement, where you will have the opportunity to speak with the locals and learn about their customs and way of life.

We will continue to “Mifis,” a former French mining and military area, where you can still see remnants of the old mines and buildings. From here, you can view the border with Algeria, marked by a mountain wall on the horizon.

We will visit a viewpoint to appreciate the vastness of the desert from above, and then head to the village of Khamlia (originating from Mali). In this small village, we will enjoy traditional tea while listening to a concert of Gnawa music, complete with their traditional clothing, instruments, and dances.

Lunch will be at a restaurant in Khamlia, where we will try regional dishes such as Berber pizza. After a delicious meal, we will return to the accommodation to rest.

The afternoon will be free for optional desert activities (subject to availability). Additionally, you will have the chance to walk through the dunes, explore the area further, or enjoy the sunset.

Dinner and overnight in Merzouga.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will head towards Rissani, a city also known as Sijilmassa, where we will visit its traditional market. Rissani is a key city in the region as it supplies perishable food and all kinds of handicrafts to the surrounding towns, making it one of the oldest and largest markets in the area.

After this visit, we will say goodbye to the palm valley surrounding the city and continue our adventure towards the Dades Valley. We will pass through various Berber (Tamazight) villages such as Erfoud and Tinghir before arriving at the stunning Todra Gorge (where, if the weather permits, we will have the opportunity to visit).

We will finish our journey in Dades, where we will have dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast at our accommodation, we will continue our journey along the "Thousand Kasbahs Road". We will pass through the Rose Valley and the town of Skoura before reaching one of the most famous cities in the world for being the setting of major films and blockbusters (such as "The Jewel of the Nile", "Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra", or "Kingdom of Heaven") and also known as the gateway to the desert—Ouarzazate, which in Berber means "without noise". Here, we will also discover historical landmarks, such as the Taurirt Kasbah and the Atlas Film Studios

Next, we will visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site (designated in 1987). This fortified settlement is surrounded by a large wall and is a popular filming location for movies and TV shows like "Game of Thrones", "Gladiator" and "Prince of Persia". We will make a stop for lunch at this magical location.

We will then continue our journey through the High Atlas Mountains, where we will have the chance to cross the highest mountain pass in the country—Tizi n'Tichka (Tichka Pass), which is 2,260 meters above sea level. Finally, we will arrive in Marrakech, where we will head straight to our accommodation.

After a revitalizing breakfast at your accommodation, we will embark on a guided tour of the Red City, Marrakech. On this tour, we will explore the streets of Marrakech, discovering its essence and most important monuments, such as the Koutoubia Mosque (a 13th-century structure; a sister of Seville's Giralda and considered the spiritual center of Marrakech), the Saadian Tombs (dating back to the 16th century, famous for their central Carrara marble dome), and the Bahia Palace (16th century, a prime example of aristocratic life in medieval Muslim Morocco, with a notable cedar wood ceiling in the Ambassador's Hall).

We will then walk to the Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the heart of the city. After a lunch stop, we will visit the Majorelle Gardens and the Menara Garden

The rest of the afternoon will be free for you to wander through the city's streets, explore the souk, and enjoy a typical natural juice or tea in Jemaa el-Fnaa Square or one of its famous terraces while watching the sunset.

Overnight in Marrakech.

After breakfast, we will bid farewell to the Red City and head towards the coast. Our destination is Essaouira, a city located on the Atlantic coast and a former Portuguese colony, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2001.

In this fishing town, we will visit a women-run argan oil factory to learn about the production process and explore the well-known port. We will also have the chance to enjoy lunch at the traditional seafood stalls, where fresh fish and seafood from the local market are served.

The afternoon will be free to explore the city’s walls and medina, stroll along the beach, or take a relaxing swim in the Atlantic Ocean.

We will return to Marrakech; overnight accommodation.

After breakfast, we will continue our adventure by exploring Casablanca, the White City. Casablanca is the largest city in Morocco and its economic and business capital. Here, we will visit the spectacular Hassan II Mosque, the seventh-largest mosque in the world and the largest on the continent.

After this fascinating visit, we will head to Rabat, the national capital, residence of the King of Morocco, and the country’s second-largest city. In Rabat, we will visit several historic points of interest, such as the Chellah Necropolis and gardens, the Hassan Tower, the Mohammed V Mausoleum, and the Oudayas Kasbah. We will stop for lunch at a traditional restaurant and continue our journey to Asilah.

Upon arrival, we will have free time to immerse ourselves in the picturesque streets of this coastal fishing village. Asilah, located on the Atlantic coast, boasts a well-preserved medina surrounded by white walls and blue gates of Portuguese origin (built by the colonists) dating back to the 15th century.

Overnight accommodation will be in Asilah.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will travel to Tangier, where, if time permits according to ferry/flight schedules, we will visit the Hercules Caves (natural caves with two openings, one to the land and one to the sea, also called "The Map of Africa") and Cap Spartel (a natural landmark with views of the Strait of Gibraltar).

After these visits, we will head directly to the port or airport.
