Itinerary

On the agreed date and time, we will pick you up at the Marrakech airport and take you to your accommodation so you can settle in.

To begin our adventure in the red city, we will take a guided tour with an official guide of Marrakech, walking through its streets, discovering its essence and its most significant monuments, such as the Koutoubia Mosque (built in the 13th century; a sister of the Giralda in Seville and considered the spiritual center and lighthouse of Marrakech), the Saadian Tombs (dating back to the 16th century, with its central Carrara marble dome), and the Bahia Palace (from the 16th century, an example of aristocratic Muslim medieval life, particularly known for its Ambassador’s Hall with a cedar wood ceiling). Finally, we will walk to the "Jemaa el-Fna Square," a UNESCO World Heritage site, the heart and nerve center of the city.

The afternoon will be free for you to explore the streets, visit the Souk, and enjoy a traditional juice (so typical) or tea at Jemaa el-Fna Square or on one of its famous terraces while watching the sunset.

The accommodation will be a hotel or Riad located in Marrakech, based on the agreed category of lodging.

After breakfast at the accommodation, we will begin our journey. We will cross the High Atlas mountains, where we will have the opportunity to pass through the country's highest mountain pass, Tizi n’Tichka, which stands at 2,260 meters.

We will continue the trip, passing through picturesque villages until we reach the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site (awarded in 1987). This fortified Kasbah is surrounded by a large wall and has been the setting for movies and series such as “Game of Thrones,” “Gladiator,” and “Prince of Persia.”

We will continue to one of the most famous cities in the world, known for being the location of major films and movies (“The Jewel of the Nile,” “Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra,” and “Kingdom of Heaven”), as well as being the gateway to the desert: Ouarzazate, a name that comes from the Berber language, meaning “without noise.” We will also visit historically significant places, such as the Taurirt Kasbah.

Next, we will follow the "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs" towards Skoura. Along the way, we will cross the Rose Valley to reach our destination, the Dades Valley. Dinner and accommodation will be in the Dades Gorges.

On the third day, we will have breakfast and continue our journey, taking in the beautiful landscapes of the Dades Valley. We will pass through numerous Berber villages (or Tamazight-speaking). We will also visit the impressive Todra Gorges.

After the visit, we will head to the desert, arriving at the foot of the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, the Merzouga desert, which boasts the tallest dunes in North Africa.

From here, we will embark on a camel ride through this majestic desert, making a stop to watch the sunset. After this unforgettable moment, we will continue deeper into the heart of the desert to reach our camp for the night.

At the camp, we will be welcomed with traditional tea and can enjoy a delicious Berber dinner in the middle of the vast desert. After dinner, we will continue enjoying an unforgettable night with a drum music show. We will sit around a fire and have the opportunity to learn to play various traditional instruments from the Berber culture, experiencing a unique night under one of Africa’s most stunning starry skies.

We will wake up before sunrise to watch the desert sunrise (this activity is optional but highly recommended!). After breakfast, we will begin a 4x4 tour to explore the area in more detail. We will cross the desert dunes in true Dakar style, venturing into its heart and living a unique experience. We will visit a nomadic settlement, where we will have the opportunity to talk with the locals, learn about their customs, and understand their lifestyle. We will continue to "Mifis" (an old mining and military area of French origin, where remnants of mining sites and structures can still be seen today), from where we can view the border with Algeria, marked by a mountain wall on the horizon. We will visit a panoramic viewpoint to appreciate the vastness of the desert from above and end the day with a visit to the village of Khamlia (originating from Mali). In this small village, we can enjoy traditional tea while listening to a concert of Gnawa music (with traditional costumes, instruments, and dances).

Lunch will be at a restaurant in Khamlia, where we will try typical regional dishes, such as Berber pizza. After a delicious lunch, we will return to the accommodation to rest and recharge.

The afternoon will be free; the more adventurous can enjoy activities in the desert (subject to availability). You will also have the chance to take a walk through the dunes, explore the area more deeply, or enjoy the sunset. Dinner and accommodation will be in Merzouga.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will head to Rissani, also known as Sijilmassa, where we will visit its traditional market. Rissani is a key city in the region, serving as a supply point for perishable food and all kinds of crafts to surrounding towns, making it one of the oldest and largest markets in the area.

After this visit, we will say goodbye to the palm valley surrounding the city and continue our journey towards Ouarzazate. Along the way, we will pass through various Berber villages and landscapes, such as the towns of “Tazarin,” “Nkob,” and the Draa River.

We will arrive in Ouarzazate in the afternoon and head straight to our accommodation for dinner.

After breakfast, we will visit the world-famous "Atlas Film Studios." Thanks to these studios, Ouarzazate has earned the nickname "Hollywood of Africa." At the studios, we will see sets and locations where famous films were shot.

After the visit, we will continue our journey back to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas mountains again.

We will arrive at the accommodation in Marrakech in the afternoon.

After breakfast at the accommodation, depending on the flight time, we may schedule activities (subject to availability).

Transfer to the airport, farewell, and end of our services.
