Itinerary

To begin our adventure in the Red City, we will take a guided tour with an official guide through the streets of Marrakech, discovering its essence and most notable monuments, such as the Koutoubia Mosque (built in the 13th century; sister to Seville's Giralda and considered the spiritual center and lighthouse of Marrakech), the Saadian Tombs (dating back to the 16th century, with a central Carrara marble dome), and the Bahia Palace (from the 16th century, an example of aristocratic life in medieval Muslim times, highlighted by its Ambassador's Hall with its cedar wood ceiling). Finally, we will walk to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, the heart and nerve center of the city.

The afternoon will be free for you to wander through the city's streets, explore the souks, and enjoy a typical fresh juice or a cup of tea in Jemaa el-Fnaa Square or one of its famous terraces while watching the sunset.

Accommodation will be in a hotel or riad in Marrakech, based on the agreed accommodation category.

After breakfast at the accommodation, we will begin our journey. We will cross the High Atlas Mountains, where we will have the opportunity to drive through the country's highest mountain pass, Tizi n’Tichka, with an altitude of 2,260 meters.

We will continue our journey through various picturesque villages, reaching the UNESCO World Heritage Ait Benhaddou Kasbah (granted UNESCO status in 1987). This kasbah is a fortified complex surrounded by a large wall, and it has served as the setting for films and TV shows such as "Game of Thrones", "Gladiator", and "Prince of Persia".

Next, we will head to one of the most famous cities in the world for its role in major films such as "The Jewel of the Nile", "Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra", or "Kingdom of Heaven", and also known as the gateway to the desert—Ouarzazate. Its name comes from the Berber language, meaning "without noise." We will also visit historically significant sites such as the Taurirt Kasbah.

We will continue on the "Thousand Kasbahs Road" towards Skoura, passing through the Valley of Roses to reach our final destination: the Dades Valley. We will have dinner and spend the night in the Dades Gorges.

On the third day, after breakfast, we will continue our journey, enjoying the landscapes of the Dades Valley. We will pass through numerous Berber (Tamazight) villages and visit the stunning Todra Gorges.

After this visit, we will head to the desert, arriving at the foot of the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi in the Merzouga Desert, which has the highest dunes in North Africa.

From here, we will take a camel trek across the majestic desert, making a stop to watch the sunset. After this unforgettable moment, we will continue deeper into the heart of the desert, where we will reach the camp where you will spend the night.

Upon arrival, we will be welcomed with traditional tea and enjoy a delicious Berber dinner in the midst of the desert's vastness. After dinner, we will enjoy an unforgettable night with a drum music performance; we will sit around a fire and have the opportunity to learn how to play various traditional Berber instruments, experiencing a unique moment under one of the most impressive star-filled skies in Africa.

We will wake up before sunrise to witness the breathtaking sunrise in the heart of the desert (this activity is optional but highly recommended!). After breakfast, we will start our 4x4 tour to explore the area in more detail.

We will cross the desert dunes in true Dakar style, venturing into its heart and living a unique experience. We will visit a nomadic settlement, where we will have the chance to speak with the nomads, learn about their customs, and understand their way of life. We will continue to "Mifis" (an old French mining and military area, where you can still see remnants of the mines and buildings), from where we can see the border with Algeria, marked by a mountain wall on the horizon.

Next, we will visit a panoramic viewpoint to get a higher perspective of the desert's vastness before heading to the village of Khamlia (originating from Mali). In this small village, we will enjoy traditional tea while listening to a concert of Gnawa music, complete with traditional costumes, instruments, and dances.

We will have lunch at a restaurant in Khamlia, where we will taste typical local dishes such as Berber pizza. After a delicious lunch, we will return to our accommodation to rest.

The afternoon will be free; the more adventurous can enjoy activities in the desert (availability to be confirmed). Alternatively, we can take a walk through the dunes, explore the area in more depth, or enjoy the sunset.

Dinner and accommodation in Merzouga.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will head to Rissani, also known as Sijilmassa, where we will visit its traditional market. Rissani is a key city in the region, serving as a supply point for perishable food and all types of crafts for the surrounding populations, making it one of the oldest and largest markets in the area.

After this visit, we will leave the palm valley surrounding Rissani behind and continue our adventure towards Ouarzazate. We will pass through various Berber villages and landscapes, such as the towns of Tazarin, Nkob, and the Draa River.

We will arrive in Ouarzazate in the afternoon and head straight to our accommodation, where we will have dinner.

After breakfast, we will visit the famous Atlas Film Studios, known worldwide. Thanks to them, Ouarzazate is often referred to as the "Hollywood of Africa." At the studios, we will see sets and locations where world-famous films were shot.

After the visit, we will continue our journey back to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains once again.

We will arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon. Depending on the time of arrival, there may be the possibility of arranging activities (availability to be confirmed).

Farewell and end of our services.
