Itinerary

At the beginning of the day (8:00 AM), we will pick you up from your accommodation to start our journey. We will cross the High Atlas Mountains, where we will have the opportunity to pass through the highest mountain pass in the country, Tizi n’Tichka, which stands at 2,260 meters above sea level.

We will continue the journey, passing through several picturesque villages until we reach the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (granted in 1987). This Kasbah is a fortified complex surrounded by a large wall and is famous for being the backdrop of movies and TV shows like "Game of Thrones," "Gladiator," and "Prince of Persia."

Next, we will continue our journey to one of the most well-known cities in the world for being the location of major films and blockbusters ("The Jewel of the Nile," "Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra," or "Kingdom of Heaven") and also known as the gateway to the desert: Ouarzazate, which means "without noise" in Berber. We will also visit historical sites, such as the Taurirt Kasbah.

We will continue along the so-called "Thousand Kasbahs Road" towards Skoura. There, we will pass through the Rose Valley before reaching our destination, the Dades Valley. We will have dinner and overnight at the Dades Gorges.

After a revitalizing breakfast, we will continue our journey, enjoying the Dades Valley and its landscapes. We will cross numerous Berber (or Tamazight) villages. Additionally, we will visit the impressive Todra Gorges.

After this visit, we will head towards the desert, where we will reach the foot of the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi; the Merzouga desert, which has the highest dunes in North Africa.

From this point, we will embark on a camel excursion across this majestic desert, making a stop to watch the sunset. After this unforgettable moment, we will enter the heart of the desert, where we will arrive at the camp where you will spend the night.

Upon arrival, we will be greeted with traditional tea and enjoy an exquisite Berber dinner in the middle of the vast desert. After dinner, we will continue to enjoy an unforgettable night thanks to a drum music show; we will sit around a fire and have the opportunity to learn to play different traditional instruments of the Berber culture, thus experiencing a unique moment under one of Africa's most stunning starry skies.

We will wake up before sunrise to witness the dawn in the heart of the desert (this activity is optional but highly recommended!). After breakfast, we will begin our 4x4 tour to explore the area in more detail. We will cross the desert dunes in true Dakar style, venturing into its heart and living a unique experience and we will visit a nomadic settlement, where we will have the chance to talk to them and learn about their customs and way of life.

We will then continue to "Mifis" (an old French mining and military area where you can still see the remains of mines and structures), from where you can see the border with Algeria, marked by a mountain range on the horizon.

Next, we will visit a viewpoint to appreciate the vastness of the desert from an elevated perspective and finish with a visit to the village of Khamlia (originally from Mali). In this small village, we will enjoy traditional tea while listening to a concert of Gnawa music (with their traditional costumes, instruments, and dances).

We will have lunch at a restaurant in Khamlia, where we can try typical regional dishes, such as Berber pizza. After a delicious lunch, we will return to our accommodation to rest.

The afternoon is free; the more adventurous guests can enjoy desert activities (subject to availability). Additionally, we will have the opportunity to take a walk through the dunes, explore the area in greater depth, or enjoy the sunset.

Dinner and overnight stay in Merzouga.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will head towards Rissani, also known as Sijilmassa, where we will visit its traditional market. Rissani is a key city in the region, as it serves as a supply point for perishable foods and all kinds of handicrafts for the surrounding villages, making it one of the oldest and largest markets in the area.

After this visit, we will say goodbye to the palm tree valley that surrounds the city and continue our adventure towards Ouarzazate.

We will pass through different Berber villages and landscapes, such as the towns of "Tazarin," "Nkob," and the Draa River.

We will reach Ouarzazate in the afternoon and head directly to our accommodation, where we will have dinner.

After breakfast, we will visit the world-famous "Atlas Film Studios." Thanks to these studios, Ouarzazate is often called "the Hollywood of Africa." In the studios, we will see sets and locations where world-famous films were shot.

After the visit, we will continue our journey back to Marrakech, passing again through the High Atlas Mountains.

We will arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon. Depending on the arrival time, we may schedule additional activities (subject to availability).

Farewell and end of our services.
