Itinerary

At the beginning of the day (8:00 AM), we will pick you up from your accommodation to start our journey. We will cross the High Atlas Mountains, where we will have the opportunity to pass through the highest mountain pass in the country, Tizi n’Tichka, which stands at 2,260 meters above sea level.

We will continue the journey, passing through several picturesque villages until we reach the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (granted in 1987). This Kasbah is a fortified complex surrounded by a large wall and is famous for being the backdrop of movies and TV shows like "Game of Thrones," "Gladiator," and "Prince of Persia."

Next, we will continue our journey to one of the most well-known cities in the world for being the location of major films and blockbusters ("The Jewel of the Nile," "Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra," or "Kingdom of Heaven") and also known as the gateway to the desert: Ouarzazate, which means "without noise" in Berber. We will also visit historical sites, such as the Taurirt Kasbah.

We will continue along the so-called "Thousand Kasbahs Road" towards Skoura. There, we will pass through the Rose Valley before reaching our destination, the Dades Valley. We will have dinner and overnight at the Dades Gorges.

After a revitalizing breakfast, we will continue our journey, enjoying the Dades Valley and its beautiful landscapes. We will proceed to cross countless Berber villages (Tamazight-speaking). Additionally, we will visit the stunning Todra Gorges.

After this visit, we will head toward the desert, where we will arrive at the foot of the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi in the Merzouga Desert, home to the highest dunes in North Africa.

From here, we will embark on a camel trek through this majestic desert, stopping to watch the sunset. After this (unforgettable) moment, we will venture deeper into the heart of the desert, where we will reach the camp where we will spend the night.

Upon arrival at the camp, we will be greeted with traditional tea and enjoy a delicious Berber dinner, all in the vastness of the desert. After dinner, we will continue our night under the stars, enjoying a drum music performance. We will sit around a fire and have the chance to learn how to play different traditional Berber instruments, creating a unique experience under one of Africa’s most breathtaking starry skies.

We will wake up before sunrise to experience the dawn in the heart of the desert (this activity is optional but highly recommended!). After breakfast, we will begin our 4x4 tour to explore the area in more detail. We will cross the desert dunes in true Dakar style, venturing into its heart and living a unique experience. We will visit a nomadic settlement, where we will have the opportunity to speak with the locals, learn about their customs, and understand their way of life. We will then head to “Mifis” (an old mining and military area of French origin, where remains of mines and buildings can still be seen), from which we can view the border with Algeria, marked by a mountain wall on the horizon. We will visit a lookout point to appreciate the vastness of the desert from a higher vantage point, before concluding with a visit to the village of Khamlia (originally from Mali). In this small village, we will enjoy traditional tea while listening to a performance of music from the Gnawa culture, complete with traditional clothing, instruments, and dances.

We will have lunch at a restaurant in Khamlia, where we can try local dishes such as Berber pizza. After a delicious meal, we will head to our accommodation to rest and recharge.

The afternoon will be free; the more adventurous may enjoy activities in the desert (subject to availability). Additionally, we will have the opportunity to walk through the dunes, explore the area more deeply, or enjoy the sunset.

Dinner and overnight stay in Merzouga.

After breakfast, we will say goodbye to the desert and head north. We will pass through numerous towns such as Rissani, Erfoud, and Errachidia, as well as charming areas like the Ziz Valley and the apple town of Midelt, where we will have lunch.

From Midelt, we will continue toward Fez, passing through the towns of Azrou and Ifrane. Along the way, we will be amazed by the landscapes, including the impressive Middle Atlas Mountains range and the cedar forest (home to ancient trees and a population of Barbary macaques).

We will arrive in Fez in the afternoon and head directly to your accommodation.

Farewell and end of our services.
