Itinerary

At 8:00 a.m., we will pick you up from your accommodation to start our journey. Along the way, we’ll pass through numerous towns, including Ifrane (known as the "Switzerland of Morocco") and Azrou. This route offers a glimpse of the Middle Atlas and its cedar forest, home to ancient trees and a population of Barbary macaques.

We will continue our journey through Midelt, the "city of apples," where we’ll stop for lunch. Next, we’ll traverse towns such as Errachidia, famous for its majestic palm valley (Ziz Valley); Erfoud, a city renowned for its fossil discoveries; and Rissani, the "city of dates" and the region's main marketplace.

We’ll conclude our day at the foot of the golden Erg Chebbi dunes in the Merzouga Desert, which features the tallest dunes in North Africa. From here, we will embark on a camel trek through the magnificent desert, stopping to watch the sunset. After this unforgettable experience, we’ll head into the heart of the desert, where we’ll reach the camp where you will spend the night.

You’ll be welcomed with traditional tea and a delicious Berber dinner in the midst of the vast desert. After dinner, enjoy an unforgettable night with a drum music performance. We’ll gather around a fire, learn to play various traditional Berber instruments, and experience a unique evening beneath one of Africa’s most stunning starry skies.

We’ll wake up early to watch the sunrise in the heart of the desert (optional but highly recommended). After breakfast, we’ll begin a 4x4 tour to explore the surrounding area in greater detail: We will cross the desert dunes in true Dakar style, venturing into its heart and living a unique experience.

We’ll visit a nomadic settlement, where you’ll have the chance to interact with locals and learn about their customs and lifestyle.

Our journey will continue to Mifis, an old French mining and military site where you can still see remnants of the mines and buildings. From here, you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the desert and the Algerian border, marked by a wall of mountains on the horizon.

Next, we’ll visit the village of Khamlia, originally founded by people from Mali. In this small village, we’ll enjoy traditional tea while listening to a live performance of Gnawa music, featuring traditional costumes, instruments, and dances.

Lunch will be at a local restaurant in Khamlia, where you can try regional dishes, such as Berber pizza. After a delicious meal, we’ll return to the accommodation for some rest.

The afternoon is free for you to enjoy desert activities (subject to availability), take a stroll through the dunes, explore the area further, or watch the sunset. Dinner and overnight stay in Merzouga.

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll head to Rissani, also known as Sijilmassa, to visit its traditional market (if time permits). Rissani is a key city in the region, serving as a vital hub for the supply of perishable goods and handmade crafts to surrounding communities. It is also one of the oldest and largest markets in the area.

After visiting Rissani, we’ll leave the surrounding palm valley and head toward the Dadès Valley. Along the way, we’ll pass through various Berber villages, such as Erfoud and Tinghir, before arriving at the stunning Todra Gorges. If time permits, we’ll stop to explore this incredible natural site.

We’ll end our day in the Dadès Valley, where we’ll have dinner and spend the night.

After breakfast at the accommodation, we’ll continue our journey along the "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs." We’ll pass through the Valley of Roses and the town of Skoura.

Our route will take us to Ouarzazate, a city globally renowned as the setting for major films such as "The Jewel of the Nile", "Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra", and "Kingdom of Heaven". Known as the "Gateway to the Desert," Ouarzazate’s name originates from the Berber term meaning "without noise."

We will also visit the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. This fortified village is surrounded by walls and has served as the backdrop for films and series like "Game of Thrones", "Gladiator", and "Prince of Persia".

After lunch at this magical location, we’ll continue our journey to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we’ll traverse the country’s highest mountain pass, Tizi n'Tichka (2,260 meters/7,415 feet), before reaching Marrakech, where we’ll go directly to your accommodation.

Farewell and the end of our services.
